It's been a little while since I updated my blog, sorry about that I am just always so busy!
Anyway, this past weekend I traveled to Brugge and Brussels Belgium with some of my flatmates! It was so fun and I enjoyed the many delicious treats both places had to offer. However, I would not recommend Brussels; it was dirty and very sketchy at night (we ran into a fight on the street!)
Our journey to Belgium was insane; it included a seven hour bus ride, a hour and a half delay waiting for the ferry, an hour long ferry ride and then another few hours to arrive in Brussels. Then we had to take a train to Brugge and walk 25 minutes to our hostel! Planes, trains and automobiles for sure! But the long journey was definitely worth it!
On the first day in Brugge we arrived at our hostel " Charlie Rockets" which was also a really cool pub! We went to a small Italian restaurant and I ordered brushetta and spaghetti bolognese! Yum! From there we explored Brugge and took pictures of the adorable architecture and landscape. We also got a lot of free samples of chocolate and other tasty treats! We bought our first Belgium waffle and it was love at first sight! Later on we found a pub that was offering one euro shots so we stayed in there for a while! I also ordered a beer called "Duvel" and it was fantastic( as I usually do not like beer!) Then we all went back to the hostel and hung out in our room for a bit.
On the second day we traveled on the train back to Brussels and explored there. I did not like Brussels that much, as it was dirty and not nearly as charming as Brugge. The food was excellent though and in the first sandwich place we went to I had to speak Spanish to order my sub! It was cool. Then we walked around some more and got a picture in front of the Peeing Fountain, which Brussels is notorious for. We also shared a large fries and they were so good! I probably gained about 10 pounds but boy was it worth it!! We then made our way to a pub (obviously) and got a few beers. I had this one called "Cone" and it was marvelous! Finally, we ended up at a really neat Irish Pub called "Celtica" and hung out there for the rest of the night. What was cool is that at the top of the pub was a club and at 10 pm it started getting crazy up there! Great music and cool lighting.
After that we headed back to our hostel "Hotel Albergo" and slept very well in our room. We woke up the next morning and made our long way back to London!
This Friday is Valentines Day so me and the girls are going to try to find a club that is hosting a Valentine's day party! We are also going back to the Borough Market to get some more food and goodies! Midterms are coming up fast and so is spring break yay! We are going to Germany, Switzerland and France!
Okay thats all for now, miss you all! Enjoy these pictures below!
